Big Ol' Steamrollin' Print Invitational

Pratt Munson-Williams-Proctor Arts Institute is a real treasure. Located right in the center of Utica, NY it has a long tradition of excellence.
They also have a fantastic small museum, which at the moment is showing the "Monet to Matisse, the Age of French Impressionism" traveling exhibition, AND they have the good taste to sell some of my prints at the museum store :)
This week there's even more to love though, with the annual Arts Festival. It's 5 days of special events, a community art show and music!
I've been looking forward to today's "Big Ol' Steamrollin' Print Invitational"since I heard about it last month!

Out and about in Central New York

Last week I treated myself to a visit to the Sam and Adele Golden Foundation's Open Studio event.  What a treat it was!

Their residency program is one month of living in a renovated barn in the hills of upstate NY, with an unlimited supply of Golden Paint products (aka paradise!)  The 3 artists really took advantage of the opportunity.  All the work was wonderfully innovative and fresh.

I was so enthralled by the display and the lively conversations there that I completely forgot to take photographs unfortunately.
